Turn a Granola CSV export into Markdown

First, get your CSV export

In Granola, open Settings, choose Profile and select Generate CSV. Choose the workspaces to export, then download the file from the email. Keep the original CSV as your backup.

Granola's export includes notes you own that have a summary, including older Basic history. Deleted notes and notes without summaries are excluded. The email link lasts 24 hours; Enterprise administrators control export access. Check the official Granola export instructions if your file is missing meetings. This tool also accepts other comma-separated meeting exports with a header row. You choose the columns yourself, so it does not depend on a particular vendor's column names.

What the download contains

The file, meeting-notes.md, contains every parsed meeting row in its original order. Each meeting gets a heading, an optional date and the text columns you selected. The preview shows up to three meetings and may shorten long text; the download contains the complete selected text.

Meeting text goes inside literal text blocks. If your export contains HTML tags, Markdown links or JSON, you will see that source text rather than a formatted version. The converter does not execute it, fetch linked images or turn it into active content. Titles and dates are escaped. Empty text fields remain in the archive so rows are not silently dropped.

Open the downloaded file in a text editor or Markdown reader. Check an older meeting and a longer transcript against the original CSV. This is a portable archive, not a direct import into Oatmeal, Granola or another app.

How the local conversion works

The page loads its code and stylesheet from this website. After you choose a file, your browser reads it into this tab's memory, parses the rows and creates the Markdown download on your device. The converter sends no file contents to a server and stores nothing in browser storage. There are no analytics scripts on this page.

Clear selected data removes the converter's current file data and preview. Closing or reloading the tab also clears the converter state. Your original CSV and any downloaded Markdown remain in your own files. Other browser features or extensions are outside this tool's control.

If the file is malformed, the converter stops and explains the problem. Work on a copy when fixing quotation marks or delimiters. A fresh export is often easier than repairing a damaged file. Files saved with another encoding should be saved as UTF-8 CSV before trying again.
