Key Takeaways
- The LeadConnector MCP server connects Claude to your GoHighLevel account in about ten minutes.
- You need agency access to install it, and you install it onto a sub-account.
- Read the permissions screen. It's a genuinely useful tour of what the connection can reach.
- Workflows are read only. You can see them, you can't build them from Claude.
- The daily use that stuck: photographing a business card and having the lead land in the CRM.
Ever wish you could just text your CRM and have it do the work? That's what this is. In my latest video I connect Claude to my GoHighLevel account with the LeadConnector MCP server, live, start to finish, in under ten minutes. Once it's wired up, Claude reads your contacts, your pipeline, your calendar, and your conversations, and hands you a brief on your day. I'm Michael Le, and I set up Go High Level for Bay Area businesses. This is the highest leverage ten minutes you'll spend this week.
The setup, step by step
In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors, then add a custom connector. Name it Lead Connector. Now you need the remote MCP server URL, and that comes from the GoHighLevel marketplace at marketplace.gohighlevel.com. Find the LeadConnector MCP server, click connect, and copy the URL. Watch the trailing period when you copy, that one catches people.
Paste it into Claude and hit add, then connect. The LeadConnector install screen pops open. You need agency access for this, and you install it onto a sub-account. One thing I forgot to say up front in the video: do this on Claude Desktop.
Read the permissions screen

Most people click through this. Don't. It's the clearest map you'll get of what you're handing over, and it doubles as a feature list.
Business read and write. Campaigns, contacts, associations, forms, custom fields, trigger links, locations, tasks. Media uploads. Funnels, where you can view pages and see funnel information. A lot of payment and store scopes, plus email campaigns. AI agent studio. Ad publishing. The phone system, including purchasing numbers, and Voice AI. Opportunities, products, social media, brand kits, conversations, and calendars.
One real limit worth knowing before you plan around it: workflows are read only. Claude can see your workflows. It can't build them. That may change, but today you build workflows in the GoHighLevel UI.
What it looks like running

Allow and install, then restart Claude. I had to restart mine before the tools showed up properly, so if the first query looks confused, that's usually why.
First real test: ask it to check the On Point Tech account. It found the company, fetched records, and then I asked for a brief of my day. It came back with the actual activity: new sub-accounts, meetings, people booking trainings.
Two things I use constantly. Business cards, where I take a photo, drop it into the chat, and the lead goes straight into GoHighLevel. And booking, where after a call I tell it to put a time on my calendar instead of clicking through to do it. I used to text my assistant these exact requests. Now I text Claude, from my phone, and my Claude talks to my HighLevel.
Why this matters for Bay Area and San Jose businesses
If you're a small business around San Jose, the honest bottleneck isn't your CRM's features. It's that nobody has time to sit in it. A connection like this turns CRM work into something you do from your phone between jobs. Add a lead from the parking lot. Book the appointment while you're still talking. Get the rundown of your day without opening a tab.
And if you're an agency running one sub-account, this is the fastest way in. When you outgrow it and need multiple sub-accounts, that's when you move to the API method, which I cover in a separate video.
Practical steps
- Open Claude Desktop, go to Customize, then Connectors, then add a custom connector.
- Get the LeadConnector MCP server URL from marketplace.gohighlevel.com.
- Paste it in, add it, and connect. You need agency access to install.
- Install onto the sub-account you want Claude working in.
- Actually read the permissions screen before you allow it.
- Restart Claude if the tools don't appear on the first query.
- Start with a read-only ask, like a brief of your day, before letting it write anything.
