Key Takeaways
- Ask AI already comes with your GoHighLevel account. Most people never turn it on.
- It reads every contact and every conversation the moment it comes in, then does what you tell it.
- The CSV import template alone can save a new CRM user a full day of setup.
- You don't ask it, you tell it. Brief it like an assistant: which calendar, who, what time.
- It now remembers things about you and your business across sessions.
Every GoHighLevel account ships with an AI that can run the CRM for you, and most people never touch it. In my latest video I open my own account and walk through Ask AI: what it does, where it hides, and the templates I actually reach for. I'm Michael Le from On Point Tech Solutions, and I set up Go High Level for San Jose and Bay Area businesses every week. This is the feature I get asked about most right now.
What Ask AI actually does
Ask AI sits on top of your whole CRM and reads it. Every contact, every conversation, as it comes in. Then you tell it what you need done.
In the video I ask it to send one of my clients a proposal email. It searches, finds the contact, checks with me on which Jordan I mean, and writes the email about connecting API keys for his project. I read the draft, tell it to send, and that's it. No digging through menus, no copy paste. While I was recording, a new "Ask AI can control your browser" feature popped up that I hadn't even seen yet. HighLevel keeps shipping updates to this thing mid week.
Where to find it (check your Labs)
Ask AI lives at the top of your GoHighLevel account. If you don't see it, it's probably sitting in Labs waiting to be turned on. Open Labs and flip it on.
One catch. Agency accounts control which features their sub-accounts get, so if your agency turned it off, you'll have to ask them. On a regular HighLevel account it just comes with the CRM. And it works best with data in it. Get your contacts and conversations in there first, then it has something real to work with.
The templates worth your time

The templates panel is the fastest way to learn what Ask AI can do. A few that stood out on camera:
Communication. Register your brand for SMS with the US carriers, connect Messenger and Instagram DMs, or have it walk you through writing a message and picking the contact to send it to.
CRM. Custom objects, custom fields, folders. The CSV import is the big one. Upload a contact sheet, tell it you want to keep all the fields, and it creates the fields and matches everything for you. If you're brand new to the CRM, that one template saves you a day.
Integrations and payments. Wire Facebook and Google lead forms into your system so you always know where a lead came from. Pricing offers, products, invoices, shipping profiles, payment connections. All of it prompted, not clicked together.
Social. Link your pages, create a blog, and put posts on a schedule. Ask AI can create scheduled tasks, so a daily blog or a daily email is one instruction, not a daily chore.
Tell it, don't ask it

The mindset shift that makes this work: you don't ask Ask AI, you tell it. Book an appointment. Which calendar, who it's with, what time. The same brief you'd give a human assistant. Once you tell it what to do, it goes and does it. It's on the mobile app too, so you can run your CRM from your phone by talking to it.
The newest part is memory. It saves notes and preferences across sessions now, so it remembers things about you and your business instead of starting cold every time. It can move opportunities through your sales pipeline, build brand voices from your website, and honestly, if you're not sure whether it can do something, just ask it what it can do. The answer is usually yes.
Why this matters for Bay Area and San Jose businesses
Most local businesses I talk to around San Jose bought a CRM and use maybe ten percent of it. Ask AI closes that gap without hiring anyone. One person can run intake, follow up, and reporting by telling the AI what to do in plain English. If you're already paying for GoHighLevel, this is free leverage sitting in your account. Not every template will matter for your business, but the ones that do will give you hours back every week.
Practical steps
- Open Labs in your GoHighLevel account and make sure Ask AI is turned on.
- Get real data in: contacts, pipelines, conversations.
- Run one real task end to end. Find a contact and send them an email.
- Open the templates panel and try the CSV import with an old contact sheet.
- Tell it to remember key facts about your business so it stops starting from zero.
- Give it one scheduled job, like a daily task list or a recurring report.
