Why chat windows make bad employees
Here's the thing nobody tells you about AI. The tools are incredible. The way we use them is terrible. You open a chat, you type, you wait, you read it, you close it. Everything it just learned about your business dies right there. Next morning you start over, explain the business again, paste the same context again.
That's not an employee. That's a really smart stranger you meet every single day.
I've got a CRM, a YouTube channel, a shop, clients, and a social account for my kid. One chat window cannot hold all of that. So I stopped opening chat windows and built the AI a place to live instead.
What Mission Control is
Mission Control is a command center built on top of Claude Code. Every part of the business gets its own workspace, and every workspace gets an agent with a name and a face. Mine is anime themed. It reminds me of the old Winamp days, when we put skins on our music players. Same idea, except the skin is on my business. You could do Pokemon or Dungeons and Dragons if that's your thing.
The theme is fun, but it's not the point. The point is that an agent with a name and a face feels like somebody. You stop treating it like a search box and start briefing it like staff. Underneath it all, GoHighLevel is the database and the way everything communicates: forms, text messages, emails, pipelines, payments. Claude Code reads all of it and works all of it.
The nine agents and what they actually do
Hoshi runs the command deck. Daily briefings, task checks, and she syncs my Granola meeting notes straight into GoHighLevel tasks. She can even scan my text message exports and turn action items from my phone into tasks.
Haru is the pipeline gardener. She adds leads and enriches them with whatever she can find about the business online, so I get a real picture before I ever talk to them. She reads unread conversations, moves opportunities, processes payments, and she'll go find new prospects when I ask.
Natsu cuts short form video and stages it for approval. Aki runs the YouTube studio. She helped script the video this post came from, and she wrote the blog you're reading right now. Fuya builds websites. Mei onboards new clients: contact, folders, welcome emails, all in one go. Kira preps my cold calls, runs objection drills, and coaches me live on screen while I'm dialing. That's the one I still can't believe works. Ken handles account management, weekly client reports, and ad reporting, and he's attached to a phone number so he can actually call clients.
They talk to each other. They run on schedules whether I'm at the desk or not.
What it costs and what it replaced
Mission Control counts tokens and shows what each day would have cost on the API. I run it on a Claude subscription instead. I asked Claude what this workspace would have cost to build as a custom project and it told me a little over ten thousand dollars. I built it with a subscription and a lot of prompting.
And I'm not from an engineering background. I came up in marketing. I learned how to use the tools, and now I tell the tools how to make the tools. That still gets me.
Why this matters for Bay Area and San Jose businesses
