Key Takeaways
- Prospect AI is a HighLevel agency tool that hunts local businesses on a schedule and emails you the list, instead of you running the search by hand.
- You build an agent per niche. Up to three niches per agent, a city and radius, and a weekly or monthly run.
- Filters are the whole game: no website, Google rating under a threshold, weak Google traffic, missing listings.
- Every lead can generate a branded audit report you send to the business, which is the opening line most cold outreach is missing.
- Only agency admins get the lead email, so decide who owns the follow up before you turn it on.
HighLevel published a short walkthrough of Prospect AI, the prospecting tool on the agency side of the platform. It runs a local business search on a schedule, scores what it finds, and drops qualified leads in your inbox every week. If you are doing Go High Level San Jose outreach by hand, this replaces a spreadsheet and a couple of evenings. On Point Tech Solutions runs its own prospecting stack out of Los Gatos, so we watched this one for where it is strong and where it is not.
The Free Leads Nobody Notices
Open the agency account, click Prospecting on the left, and a new agency already has three leads on the dashboard. They are free and contextual: HighLevel generates them from the niche and postcode on your agency profile. The video says they appear for agencies that have been on the platform between 15 and 30 days and have not generated any leads yet.
Each one is eligible for an audit report. Hit generate report and you get an email with the audit plus an option to book a call with the HighLevel team if you want help working it.
Three leads is not a pipeline. It is a sample, so you can see what the output looks like before you build the real thing.
Building a Prospect AI Agent
The agent is the actual tool. Click Prospect AI at the top and create one. You give it a name, a specialty and a niche. The walkthrough builds a chiropractor agent as its example.
You can target up to three niches per agent, and there is a searchable dropdown if yours is not listed. Then geography: city, area and zip code. Then lead allocation, which is how many leads this agent may generate automatically. The video says max it.
Schedule comes next. Weekly or monthly, and you pick the day. The suggestion in the video is worth stealing: run it Sunday so the leads and the reports are waiting when you start dialing Monday morning.

Focused, Wider or Custom Hunting
This is the setting most people will get wrong on the first pass. Prospect AI gives you three finding modes.
Focused hunting prioritizes lead quality even if that means fewer leads. Wider hunting pulls a bigger pool and accepts a lower conversion rate. Custom lets you set the balance yourself, and it is where the radius control lives: 5 miles, 10, 25 or the entire city.
Then you filter by business features. Businesses with no website. A Google Business Profile rating under three. A business where Google sends more than 80 percent of the traffic. Each filter is a different pitch, so pick the one that matches the offer you want to sell this month.
The Audit Preferences Are the Pitch
Before you save, you choose which audits the agent runs on every lead it finds. There are seven:
- Business stack: are the listing details complete and easy for a customer to find.
- Technology stack: which tools and technologies are driving or limiting their marketing.
- Google Business Profile: how strong their Google listing is for trust and visibility.
- Business listings: missing or inaccurate records across the major directories.
- Online reputation: how customers rate and talk about the brand.
- Website performance: speed, mobile readiness and usability.
- SEO: how well they show up when someone searches.
Last step is lead enrichment, where you set how many points of contact the agent should find per business. Then create. From there the agent emails a report every week on the criteria you set, you generate the marketing report for any lead worth pursuing, and you reach out by email, SMS or WhatsApp straight out of HighLevel so the whole thread tracks in the CRM.

Why This Matters for Bay Area and San Jose Businesses
Start with the density. A 5 mile radius around downtown San Jose holds more businesses than a 25 mile radius holds in most of the country. Focused hunting with a tight radius is not a compromise in this market, it is the correct setting. Wider hunting across the whole South Bay will bury you in volume you cannot call.
The filters also map onto what is actually broken around here. Bay Area small businesses rarely have no website at all. What they have is a site built years ago that is slow on a phone, a Google Business Profile nobody has touched since it was claimed, and reviews under four stars with no replies. The website performance, Google Business Profile and online reputation audits find those. The no website filter mostly will not.
The honest limit: an automated audit is an opener, not a diagnosis. It tells you a site is slow. It does not tell you the booking form is quietly broken on mobile. Somebody still has to look before the call.
Practical Steps
- Check your agency dashboard for the free contextual leads first. They show you what the output looks like.
- Build one agent per niche. Three is the cap, and you want the audits comparable.
- Start with custom hunting and a 5 or 10 mile radius in a dense metro. Widen only when you run out of names.
- Pick filters that match one offer. A no website filter and a bad reviews filter are two completely different sales conversations.
- Set the run for Sunday so Monday starts with a list instead of a search.
- Turn on website performance, Google Business Profile and online reputation first. Those three carry the clearest before and after.
- Name who owns the follow up. Only agency admins get the lead email, so the list dies quietly if that person is not the one calling.

Final Thoughts
The line that matters is the one about the audit report. Cold outreach fails because it opens with what you sell. A report about their own Google listing opens with what they own, and it is free to generate.
Set the agent up once and it keeps running. That is the difference between prospecting you have to remember to do and prospecting that happens.
